Way back in our fundie days, a Jezebel was any woman who dared to buck the system. It became an insult hurled at any strong independent girl, and really had nothing to do with Jezebel in the Bible. These days, we're reclaiming all sorts of experiences, from loving our bodies to calling out bullshit. And we figured...why not reclaim the name Jezebel? We've learned over the years. One might even call it wisdom. But it's the wisdom of what it means to be a strong independent woman after high control religion. So here's to us (cheers!)...Wise Jezebels exploring pop culture, entertainment, and the religious roots of it all, sharing the lessons we've learned since leaving religion behind.
